The chapter has been sponsoring Young Eagles activities since EAA started the program in 1992.  As time goes by we are getting better at it.  Below are some pictures of past events:

Text Box: On January 26, 2008, we started a new year of Young Eagles flights with the “Wise Guys” group from the Rapid City Club for Boys. Scott Christiansen’s flew his Piel Beryl with many of the kids.

The chapter began sponsoring Golden Eagles rides in the fall of 2007.  This is to encourage adults with means to pursue their pilot’s license. Below are some pictures of our first event.
Text Box: GOLDEN EAGLES Text Box: On March 8, 2008 we flew 29 Boy Scouts in cooperation with the SD National Guard and the Control Tower at Rapid City Regional Airport. Kids were flown by EAA members and the Guard provided classroom facilities for the boys to earn their aviation merit badge and tours of their facilities. The Control Tower also gave all of the kids a tour of the cab.

On June 21, 2008 we hosted our second Golden Eagles event.  We had two prospective pilots show up, while four EAA pilots were waiting to share their planes.  The event ended with a nice cookout.
